Please note: a 1973 fire at the National Personnel Records Center destroyed roughly 80% of Army service records from this era, so many WWII files no longer survive. If the Archives can't locate a record, a veteran's service can often be reconstructed from unit morning reports — specialists like Golden Arrow Research do exactly this kind of work.
